Vietnam is an attractive destination for high-tech investment, yet there is a shortage of supply in the short run. According to Mr. Pham Thanh Dai Linh – Consulting Director of Strategy & Technology at FPT Digital, a combination of technical skills and business skills, such as communication and critical thinking, is a prerequisite for transformation to happen. These skills are indispensable in every position and are critical to digital success in all organizations and industries.
Mr. Pham Thanh Dai Linh, Consulting Director of Strategy & Technology at FPT Digital, shared about the development of digital capabilities in the digital transformation era at the Digital Office Solutions conference held on July 21 in Hanoi.
According to the report from Global Reporting Initiative on SDGs, 40% of businesses make measurable commitments to their approach to SDGs, while 20% of them present evidence for positive impacts assessment. Sustainability-based digital transformation is a valuable opportunity for Vietnam to transfer from a low-middle-income economy to a developed economy.
Mr. Linh stated that Vietnam has advantages to strengthen its power within the area and globally, such as factors in energy security and its geographical positioning on the world map. Therefore, digital transformation based on sustainability is a valuable opportunity for Vietnam to transform to a developed economy. Digitalization has been a leading trend and is becoming an indispensable part of Vietnamese people, especially in typical aspects such as digital society, digital government, and digital economy.
Mr. Linh emphasized that Vietnam is an attractive destination for high-tech investment, yet there is a shortage of supply in the short run. With the increasing demand for digital human resources, businesses need to consider appropriate approaches to meet the overall goals of digital transformation, including: conducting training activities to enhance abilities, creating a flexible working environment, and empowering business organizations to deploy green technology to optimize costs and innovate. In addition, a combination of technical and business skills, such as communication and critical thinking, is a prerequisite for enabling the transition.
