The AI training and practical workshop organized by FPT Digital in Ho Chi Minh City offered an in-depth overview of Artificial Intelligence and its transformative role in logistics. Under the guidance of Mr. Vuong Quan Ngoc, CSO & Partner at FPT Digital, alongside consultant Ha Quang Thai, the event not only highlighted the potential of AI in optimizing supply chains but also provided an interactive platform for Headway’s leadership and staff to apply AI tools in real business and operational scenarios. This event marks a crucial step in preparing Headway to effectively leverage AI in their digital transformation journey.
On November 16, 2024, in Ho Chi Minh City, FPT Digital, in collaboration with Headway Holding, organized the “AI Training and practical application workshop”. The event provided a comprehensive overview of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (Gen AI), while offering a hands-on opportunity to apply AI in real business operations at Headway.
Headway Holding is a logistics company with a diverse range of fields, including units such as Headway Logistics – a leader in cold chain, automotive, spare parts, and cross-border supply chain services; TB Logistics – a leading company in providing logistics services for trade between Cuba and Vietnam, currently expanding warehouse investment in Cuba; Trucking Solution – a company providing TMS software solutions to manage a highly automated fleet in real-time; and affiliated and strategic investment companies such as Supership – a leading company in the last-mile delivery sector that uses AI to optimize customer selection.
AI – The key to enhancing supply chains in the logistics industry
At the training session, Mr. Vuong Quan Ngoc, CSO & Partner at FPT Digital, shared insights about AI, emphasizing that it is not a system capable of thinking or creating like humans but rather a tool for processing data, making decisions based on algorithms, and predicting outcomes from trained data.
The implementation of AI solutions has become a key factor in improving supply chains. By 2023, 27% of large logistics companies had adopted AI, focusing on applications such as real-time tracking, route optimization, and predictive analytics. These solutions help businesses effectively manage complex challenges in global trade, thereby enhancing competitiveness and optimizing operational efficiency.
Facing challenges – Mastering the future with AI
Although AI holds immense potential, its implementation in the logistics industry still faces significant challenges. Some of the key obstacles include the complexity of integrating AI with existing systems, a shortage of high-quality data for training, and the substantial initial investment required.
The two FPT Digital experts also highlighted that to successfully adopt AI, businesses must have a clear strategy, beginning with the digitization of data and integration of operational systems. This process demands long-term commitment from leadership and substantial investment in employee training. Only by overcoming these challenges can logistics companies achieve process automation and build an intelligent ecosystem with AI, unlocking the full potential of the technology.
During the practical session, the leadership team and staff groups at Headway conducted exercises using AI tools, creating practical application scenarios for the business. The results presented not only showcased creativity but also laid the foundation for AI strategies that align with business operations.
At the end of the workshop, FPT Digital experts helped Headway shape an effective AI preparation and implementation roadmap, paving the way for a new direction in the company’s digital transformation journey in the logistics sector.
