On the morning of December 3, 2021, FPT Techday 2021 – FPT’s biggest technology event of the year was officially kicked-off on the online platform with the theme: “Thrive in the Green Normal”.
In 2021, the unexpected developments of the COVID-19 pandemic have caused severe social and economic consequences, and pose huge challenges to businesses and organizations. In order to ensure life and gradually restore the economy, businesses have been getting used to the “green normal”: production and business in conditions of safety and prevention of epidemics.
Even during the pandemic and when society transitions to the “green normal”, technology has always played a core role in helping businesses run efficiently, and proposing innovative and flexible business models. Besides, before the trend of “technology for human sake” of the world, businesses also need to equip themselves with the understanding of new technologies, which are developed based on a symbiotic relationship with people, to can better understand their customers, and find ways to create enjoyable experiences for them that engage them more with the brand.
Speaking at the opening session, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Board of Directors shared about the role of technology in the green normal, which is technology for the sake of humanity, technology for human life: “The anti-pandemic digital change helps commanders make the fastest decisions due to accurate and timely data. Only in this way can we ensure the dual goals of fighting the epidemic, developing the economy, and ensuring security against the epidemic.”
Mr. Nguyen Huu Hung Cuong, Consulting Director of FPT Digital shared about the strategic direction to help businesses cope, recover and break through again in the green normal period due to digital transformation, which emphasized the relationship between the three factors of business – people – technology and conversion traps that need to avoid in the implementation process in order to develop and protect the business against upcoming challenges.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Hung Cuong said that the crisis is a golden time for businesses to transform. According to a study by Deloitte, 80% of the world’s highly resilient businesses during the pandemic have implemented Digital Transformation. In Vietnam, businesses have 3 advantages, the first factor is the support of the state when Vietnam has a strong orientation on Digital Transformation with many action programs at the national level, 2020 is also considered as the launch year of Vietnam’s Digital Transformation. The second factor is the limitation of the traditional working method. The Covid-19 epidemic has led to a series of restrictions on contact and movement, leading to the disruption of supply chains and inappropriate implementation of traditional working methods of enterprises. Finally, it is impossible not to mention the availability and popularity of technology. The development of technology allows businesses to apply technology quickly and at an affordable price. Vietnam is also one of the 20 countries with the highest percentage of Internet users in the world. Therefore, “strengthening” plays an essential role in helping businesses continue to protect themselves from unpredictable challenges, ensure safety against epidemics, achieve high efficiency in production and not to left behind.
FPT Techday 2021 is an annual Technology Forum organized by FPT Corporation with the leading scale in Vietnam, bringing together leading domestic and foreign business leaders and technology experts to discuss technology trends, find solutions to business problems from the application of technology, a playground for young people to learn, connect and assert their own technological capabilities.
