Vuong Quan Ngoc, Consulting Director, along with experts from FPT Digital, provided an overview of digital transformation, its current state, trends, and key lessons learned from implementing digital transformation during the training program titled “Overview of digital transformation and IT transformation – Building a digital culture in enterprises” at PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP). The event took place in Vinh City, Nghe An Province, over two days, from March 29-30, 2024.
The program was organized to share knowledge, impart experience, and prepare for significant upcoming activities in PVEP’s digital transformation efforts.
Attendees included Mr. Tran Quoc Viet – Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Members of PVEP, Mr. Tran Hong Nam – Deputy Party Secretary, CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of PVEP, along with members of the Board of Members, Executive Board, Supervisory Board, and key leaders from various departments, offices, branches, subsidiaries, and joint ventures of PVEP.
Representatives from FPT Digital participated in the training alongside leading experts from both domestic and international organizations, including Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Schlumberger, Noventiq, Viettel, FPT, NGS, PetroSouth, and more.
In his opening remarks for the event series, Mr. Hoang Ngoc Trung, Vice CEO of PVEP, emphasized that the global energy transition presents significant challenges for oil and gas enterprises like PVEP. Digital transformation, however, offers an opportunity to enhance operational efficiency and productivity. The digital transformation training and seminar program is a highly practical initiative, aimed at raising awareness and providing management with essential knowledge about digital transformation. It also aims to strengthen the company’s governance capabilities, helping PVEP better adapt to the industrial revolution 4.0.
In the training program ” Overview of digital transformation and IT transformation – Building a digital culture in enterprises,” lecturer Vuong Quan Ngoc, Consulting Director, and experts from FPT Digital provided a comprehensive introduction to digital transformation, its current state, trends, and key lessons learned from implementation. As an expert with extensive experience in consulting on digital transformation for large enterprises and various subsidiaries of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, Mr. Vuong Quan Ngoc’s insights and discussions offered valuable advice and solutions to the PVEP leadership and participants. His contributions helped raise awareness and understanding of digital transformation at multiple levels, emphasized the importance of building and implementing a digital culture, and highlighted the critical factors for success.
Mr. Doan Huu Hau shared that the oil and gas industry holds significant potential for breakthrough development, driven by the application of advanced technologies already in use globally. Additionally, digital transformation helps oil and gas enterprises address contemporary challenges such as the annual decline in natural extraction output, operational management, and ensuring the efficiency of investment activities and project management.
Mr. Hau shared that FPT has extensive experience in providing digital transformation consulting for both upstream and downstream businesses in the value chain and is committed to leveraging its expertise in the comprehensive digital transformation of Vietnam’s oil and gas industry.
During the seminar, experts and speakers presented practical experiences and valuable insights gained from consulting and implementing digital transformation for large enterprises and companies in the oil and gas sector. These included establishing scale, priority areas, preparation and implementation roadmaps, as well as challenges faced and the solutions and tools that can aid the digital transformation process, including ERP system development.
Dr. Tran Quoc Viet, Chairman of the Board of Members at PVEP, expressed his high regard and appreciation for the participation and presentations of the experts and speakers. Their insights provided valuable and relevant advice for PVEP to consider in planning and improving its digital transformation efforts.
