“People are of the most important factor in the strategic integration roadmap of Double Transformation”, FPT Digital expert stated

On October 27, 2023, digital transformation expert Nguyen The Phuong represented FPT Digital to participate in the seminar organised by the The Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing Zone and Industrial Park Authority Business Association (HBA), with the goal of promoting ESG standards for manufacturing enterprises. Mr. Phuong stated that digital transformation is a bridge to realise ESG goals for businesses.

The event offers information on several sustainable development-related solutions, giving Vietnamese businesses a wider perspective when it comes to sustainable development and its practical implementation.

ESG stands for Environment – Society – Corporate Governance – a set of 3 measuring standards related to the sustainable development of businesses. This is considered an inevitable trend in every country and business.

At the beginning, Mr. Phuong pointed out that sustainability is currently a top priority for businesses around the world. Up to 80% of businesses plan to increase investment in sustainability and up to 60% of businesses consider ESG as a key criterion in selecting and prioritising digital initiatives. Developing business according to ESG standards helps bring many multi-dimensional benefits in terms of Economic, Environmental and Social aspects to businesses.

Mr. Phuong then moved on to talk about Digital ESG, stressing that digital transformation will bridge the link between ESG goals and business development targets. Drawing from his extensive experience managing large-scale digital transformation projects, businesses can greatly increase their chances of attaining sustainability objectives when embracing ESG as a fundamental principle in business development.
FPT Digital expert believes that Vietnam has taken initial fundamental actions to catch up with the global Digital ESG trends, despite facing many challenges. To build sustainability as a competitive advantage, businesses must integrate ESG into their Business Strategy from the beginning. “Business Strategy – Digital Transformation Strategy – Green Transformation Strategy” must be the three pillars to help businesses steadily develop on a global scale.” – Mr. Phuong said.

To succeed in the strategic integration roadmap of Double Transformation, serving business development goals, People are always the most important factor, which are: People – Leadership – the thinking and commitment to implementation of leaders; People – Mindset the mindset and commitment of the team; and People – Culture – the organization’s digital transformation culture. In which, organizational culture is built based on 3 main elements including Flexible culture – Agile; Data culture and Collaborative culture.
Therefore, businesses need to prioritize digital awareness among employees through training programs and communications.

In addition to Mr. Nguyen The Phuong’s presentation, a number of technological solutions were presented by representatives from Shinec Joint Stock Company, Unilever Vietnam, SAP Vietnam, Viettel IDC, and Viettel IDC. FPT Digital, by creating a “hyphen” between theory and real-world application, is assisting companies in completing their successful digital transformation roadmap.
