On January 19, a delegation of senior experts from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) visited FPT Digital at FPT Tower in Hanoi for a site tour and in-depth discussion. The visit was part of the working agenda of the UNIDO delegation and representatives from the Ministry of Economy of Belarus, aimed at exploring Vietnam’s innovation ecosystem, digital transformation models, and experience in applying Industry 4.0 technologies within FPT Corporation.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Farrukhbek Alimdjanov, Industrial Development Officer from UNIDO’s Division of Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence; Mr. Ivan Belchik, Head of the Economic Integration Department, Ministry of Economy of Belarus; Mr. Uladzimir Labanau, Head of the Industrial Economy Department, Ministry of Economy of Belarus; along with representatives from the Mogilev city authorities and UNIDO experts. Representing FPT were Dr. Le Hung Cuong, Chief Executive Officer of FPT Digital, and Mr. Le Huy Hoang, Consulting Manager at FPT Digital.

The purpose of the visit was to provide UNIDO representatives with a comprehensive view of Vietnam’s innovation ecosystem, from collaborative models linking universities, research institutes, and enterprises to the country’s technology transformation efforts under the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). The UNIDO delegation expressed its interest in gaining a deeper understanding of how Vietnam is implementing 4IR in practice and the lessons learned from applying new technologies in manufacturing, management, and digital economic development. During the discussion, both sides focused on clarifying the role of innovation ecosystems in driving digital transformation and technology transition. Notable applications, existing challenges, and practical lessons in implementing 4IR were discussed in detail, opening up opportunities to strengthen cooperation and share practical experience between Vietnam and Belarus in the field of modern industry.
Opening the session, Dr. Le Hung Cuong and Mr. Le Huy Hoang shared an overview of FPT – Vietnam’s largest technology corporation and one of the pioneering enterprises driving digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence in the transition toward Industry 4.0 technologies. FPT’s overarching goal is to accompany organizations in shaping their digital future, optimizing operations, and creating new advances in competitiveness through technology.

From a national perspective, FPT Digital’s experts emphasized that Vietnam is pursuing a 4IR strategy with the goal of having the digital economy contribute 30% of GDP by 2030, while gradually becoming a regional center for AI research, development, and application. This strategy is associated with the development of Digital Government, Digital Society, and national-scale data systems – all of which form the foundation for fostering innovation and enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises. Mr. Hoang noted that FPT Digital is accompanying businesses on this transformation journey through three service pillars: Digital Transformation, Green Transformation, and AI. These initiatives are built on proprietary methodologies and assessment tools such as DxRank™ and ESG Rank™, enabling businesses to determine their level of digital maturity, optimize operations, and progressively modernize in line with 4IR objectives. The insights shared by FPT Digital’s experts gave the UNIDO delegation a broad perspective on how Vietnam is building its innovation ecosystem, fostering collaboration between businesses, research institutes, and universities, and implementing 4IR in Vietnamese enterprises.
Throughout the discussion, UNIDO representatives showed particular interest in the FPT Digital Kaizen™ methodology – one of the core platforms FPT Digital applies in operational optimization projects for Vietnamese enterprises. Numerous questions were raised regarding how FPT Digital integrates this methodology with data and digital technologies, the implementation process within enterprises, and the practical results achieved through improvement efforts. Dr. Le Hung Cuong emphasized that FPT Digital Kaizen™ is a core methodology used to assess an enterprise’s digital maturity, thereby identifying transformation opportunities and the gap between current capabilities and industry benchmarks. According to Dr. Cuong, this tool not only helps enterprises clearly identify their strengths and weaknesses in operations, but also serves as a foundational platform for developing a comprehensive digital transformation roadmap with suitable, feasible initiatives that deliver real value.

Dr. Cuong’s remarks drew special attention from the UNIDO delegation. Building on this interest, UNIDO expressed its desire to continue working with FPT Digital through online sharing sessions and thematic workshops in the near future. UNIDO representatives noted that the experience FPT Digital has accumulated from practice could become an important reference source for the sustainable industrial development programs the organization is implementing across multiple countries. Dr. Cuong affirmed that FPT Digital is ready to cooperate, share methodologies, and contribute practical lessons to the broader development initiatives that UNIDO is pursuing.
With these new directions for collaboration emerging from the meeting, the UNIDO delegation’s visit not only strengthened mutual understanding but also laid the groundwork for more in-depth exchanges between the two sides in the future. This is seen as an opportunity for FPT Digital to further affirm its role in partnering with international organizations in promoting digital transformation and sustainable industrial development in Vietnam and the region.
