The event fostered a shared understanding of the role and value of AI while sparking ideas for its practical application in Gemadept’s operations.
On September 20, FPT Digital held a workshop on AI Application at Gemadept Corporation, which took place in Ho Chi Minh City. The event was attended by Mr. Đo Van Nhan, Chairman of the Board, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, CEO of Gemadept, along with representatives from the company’s leadership and management teams, reflecting their strong interest in adopting new technological and AI solutions for management, operations, and business in the digital era.
Founded in 1990, Gemadept was a pioneer in introducing container services to Vietnam and connecting the country’s maritime routes with international markets. Today, Gemadept has become one of the leading brands in the port operations and logistics sector in Vietnam, with a focus on continuous expansion and sustainable development.
Amidst the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the integration of technology into port operations and logistics is not only a trend but a critical factor for long-term business growth. Digitalization and automation of processes not only optimize operations and reduce costs but also improve service quality and contribute to environmental protection.
At the workshop, Mr. Đoàn Hữu Hậu, Director of Digital Transformation and AI Applications at FPT Digital, presented on global AI trends and the most widely-used AI tools today. He also shared insights on the potential applications of AI in the port operations and logistics sector, which can enhance operational efficiency and meet international standards.
Following the presentation, Gemadept’s leadership and staff engaged in active discussions about the reality of digital transformation and explored initiatives and opportunities to implement AI solutions at Gemadept, such as optimizing operational plans, resource allocation, and automating management processes. The discussions opened up significant opportunities for improving operations, enhancing performance, and ensuring the company’s sustainability.
Mr. Hậu also outlined a proposed roadmap for AI implementation at Gemadept, including building an intelligent ecosystem with AI, automating processes, and utilizing data analytics for management. These solutions are expected to deliver outstanding results, helping Gemadept maintain its leading position in the port operations and logistics industry.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, CEO of Gemadept, stated: “The application of AI in port operations not only optimizes processes but also brings long-term strategic value to Gemadept, paving the way for sustainable and efficient development.
