Vinacomin – Power Holding Corporation and FPT conducted a handover ceremony for the project of consulting on the development of a digital transformation strategy and roadmap for Vinacomin – Power Holding Corporation by 2030. The project focuses on the goal of applying IT comprehensively across all business operations and management, fostering collaboration in a digital environment.
Vinacomin – Power Holding Corporation (stock code: DTK), founded in 2009, is a key member of the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Group. The company specializes in the investment, construction, and operation of hydropower, thermal power, and renewable energy plants. As one of Vietnam’s top five electricity producers, Vinacomin currently operates six thermal power plants and one hydropower plant, with a combined capacity of 1,735 MW annually.
Amid the rapid transformation of the energy sector, particularly electricity, driven by digital revolution and advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, Vinacomin – Power Holding Corporation is set to undertake a comprehensive digital transformation, aiming to become a digital enterprise and achieve sustainable development by 2030.
The digital transformation consulting project, launched by FPT Digital, a subsidiary of FPT Corporation, began in early 2024. The goal is for all business, production, and management activities to be seamlessly integrated with IT and collaboration within a digital environment. The company will operate based on data, with all activities requiring coordination with authorities, partners, and suppliers being conducted in a collaborative digital space. By 2030, Vinacomin – Power Holding Corporation aims to become a modern, flexible digital enterprise capable of data-driven decision-making, with an electricity generation output of at least 10.5 billion kWh per year (based on the 2024 plan), while consistently maintaining maximum capacity.
The digital transformation roadmap was developed based on the results of an in-depth survey and assessment of Vinacomin – Power Holding Corporation’s current digitalization status, covering aspects such as strategy, technology, data, operational capabilities, customer relations, and corporate culture. FPT Digital’s consulting experts conducted comprehensive analysis to identify the company’s strengths, weaknesses, potential, and challenges in digital transformation. From this, a comprehensive digital transformation strategy framework was created, with clear short, medium, and long-term goals, along with measurable indicators, leveraging available resources and development potential to achieve the highest effectiveness in Vinacomin’s digital transformation program.

The digital transformation roadmap developed by FPT in collaboration with Vinacomin – Power Holding Corporation includes 21 digital initiatives, focusing on three core pillars: managing external relationships, digitizing governance activities, and optimizing production operations efficiency. Additionally, two key leverage factors are strong and flexible IT infrastructure, along with a team ready for digital transformation. All digital initiatives are built according to FPT’s evaluation criteria, and the proposed roadmap is optimized to align with the development activities and resources of Vinacomin – Power Holding Corporation. Through the roadmap development process and its upcoming implementation, all employees of the corporation will clearly understand the objectives and benefits of the digital transformation program, which will foster a strong commitment and high consensus for a successful digital transformation.
The consulting unit has also organized training programs and capacity-building activities for all employees of Vinacomin – Power Holding Corporation, as well as representatives from its member units, to foster a digital mindset and enhance the effective application of technology. This is a crucial step in preparing the corporation to become an agile organization, ready to adapt to market changes and achieve sustainable development.
