The Biztech Vietnam 2024 Conference and Exhibition is an annual event focused on digital transformation, aimed at introducing and sharing knowledge and experiences to help enhance management, production, and business efficiency for enterprises and organizations.
At the event, Mr. Nguyen The Phuong, Sustainable Development Consultant at FPT Digital, highlighted that ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) is a key trend and topic of interest for the coming phase, particularly as global policies tighten around carbon reduction and the move toward Net Zero. Leading regions such as the Americas and Europe are driving carbon border adjustment mechanisms (CBAM), and the impact is gradually spreading to Asia.
Mr. Nguyen The Phuong emphasized, “Businesses must transform to keep up with the new game,” as ESG becomes a top priority worldwide. Phuong cited a report showing that over 80% of businesses plan to increase their investment in sustainability, and 60% consider ESG a key criterion when selecting and prioritizing digital initiatives.
In this context, dual transformation, which combines digital and green transformation, could be a viable solution for many Vietnamese businesses. The final destination of integrating these two forms of transformation is to achieve growth that not only focuses on increased output and consumption but also balances environmental protection and ensures social equity. For instance, digital technologies help monitor and optimize resource usage, reducing waste and increasing production efficiency. Smart systems and automation can reduce the energy required for economic activities, thereby lowering emissions.
Mr. Nguyen The Phuong further elaborated that businesses need to transform their business models and enhance their management and operational capacities to adapt to the rapidly changing demands and expectations of stakeholders such as customers, partners, investors, shareholders, employees, and regulatory bodies. These stakeholders increasingly require businesses to be more transparent and responsible in their ESG impacts and contributions.
FPT Digital’s expert noted that while Vietnam has taken foundational steps to catch up with the global dual transformation trend, there are still significant challenges ahead. To build sustainability as a competitive advantage, businesses must integrate ESG into their business strategy from the outset, grounded in a digital transformation strategy. “The ‘Business Strategy – Digital Transformation Strategy – Green Transformation Strategy’ must be the trivet that help businesses grow and reach an international level,” Phuong stated.
The Biztech Vietnam 2024 Conference and Exhibition will take place over two days (May 10-11, 2024), aiming to connect businesses with other businesses (B2B) and businesses with customers (B2B2C), with the participation of more than 1,000 delegates, including business leaders, managers, speakers, and experts. The six specialized seminars will cover topics such as: Corporate Governance 4.0; Digital Transformation in Customer Management (CRM); Martech – Enhancing Competitive Advantage; Breakthrough Growth with E-Commerce & Social Commerce; Green Digital Transformation for Manufacturing Enterprises; and ESG Training and Consultation Workshop.
