On December 27, a representative from FPT Digital attended the 2023 Hai Phong Digital Transformation Forum, themed “Creating Digital Data – The Foundation for Socio-Economic Development,” organized by the city of Hai Phong in collaboration with the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA). At the event, FPT Digital experts presented recommendations to accelerate green transformation efforts and promote sustainable development for the province.
The event took place on December 26 – 27, 2023 with 2 conference sessions, 3 symposiums and an exhibition of typical digital technology solutions. The event is part of a series of activities in response to the National Digital Data Year under the direction of the Prime Minister.
Attending the Forum were Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Hoang Minh Cuong; Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Software and Information Technology Services – VINASA Nguyen Van Khoa; representatives of leaders of departments, ministries, central branches, local People’s Committees, corporations, IT enterprises and more than 30 leading speakers and experts on digital transformation. The event attracted more than 1,000 attendees, including representatives of agencies, ministries, central agencies, state management agencies, associations, organizations, corporations, and prestigious enterprises across the country, as well as representatives of media agencies.
The forum aims to provide opportunities to meet and exchange about capabilities, needs, solutions and policies to promote digital transformation in various fields, introduce and experience advanced technologies; experience applications and products serving people and businesses; promoting IT applications, connecting supply and demand; attracting digital technology investment in Hai Phong city; raise awareness of digital transformation at all levels, sectors and localities, the great and practical values that digital data brings to management, administration and socio-economic development.
Director of Digital Transformation Consulting Pham Thanh Dai Linh participated in an in-depth seminar on the topic: “Digital transformation and digital data exploitation in the Logistics port industry” to identify the problems to be solved of the Logistics seaport industry as well as the industry’s digital data management and exploitation methods. Hai Phong is currently 1 of 2 seaports of special classification in the country, along with Ba Ria – Vung Tau. Orientation, Hai Phong is a major seaport city in the region and the world, and is being planned as a seaport and logistics center of international level.
Mr. Linh consulted with experts and business leaders to develop a digital transformation strategy – digital data in the new period of Hai Phong city. Firstly, Mr. Linh proposed to explore and implement the “port government” model to share data and services of many different parties, thereby improving the competitiveness of the unit. The Port Authority model has been successfully operated in many countries around the world, helping local authorities effectively coordinate seaport operations. He gave the example of the Port Authority in Singapore, which has brought huge profits to businesses, created jobs as well as reformed administrative procedures. Second, new ports need to introduce smart standards from the beginning. Old ports need to standardize and synchronize infrastructure, so that later participating units can easily adapt and operate according to common standards.
At the Digital Economy Topic: Promoting the Digital Transformation of Hai Phong Enterprises, FPT Digital Sustainability Consultant Nguyen Tuan Anh participated in a presentation on the topic “Dual Digital and Green Transformation in Enterprises”. He said that sustainability is currently a top priority for businesses around the world when up to 80% of businesses plan to increase investment in sustainability and 60% of businesses consider ESG as a key criterion in choosing and prioritizing digital initiatives. Business development in accordance with ESG standards and standards helps bring many benefits and multi-dimensional values in terms of Economy, Environment and Society for businesses. From the experience of implementing many digital transformation projects for many large enterprises, he gave many examples showing that when taking ESG as a core value in business development along with strong support from the power of digital technology, businesses are highly likely to achieve sustainable goals.
Speaking at the Forum, FPT General Director, Chairman of Vietnam Information Technology Software and Services Association – VINASA Nguyen Van Khoa said that Hai Phong has a particularly important position in the Northern economic region. Digital transformation not only creates development for Hai Phong but also is a driving force and link leading to the development of the entire Northern economic region.
